Mushroom Costumes

Award winning mushroom costumes created for the annual Telluride Mushroom Festival parade, created in collaboration with Riitta Ikonen and Jessica Langley. They are the subjects of the mockumentary “Fest in Show“, and their costumes have been featured in the film “Fantastic Fungi“, in Mushroom People Magazine,  Travel + Leisure, Vogue, and Fungi Magazine.

2025 – Genus Chlorociboria aka green elf cup / blue stain

2023 – Psilocybe cubensis spore cloud / spore print (50 person costume)
2022 – Leccinum insigne aka Aspen bolete (with maggots)

FEST IN SHOW: Dethroning the Kin
Competitive mushroom costume making reaches uncharted territory when a new rival enters the scene. Vicious competition meets hand crafted art in this twisted documentary film by Hamilton Pevec. Featuring the “unbeatable” costume team: Jessica Langley, Ben Kinsely and Riitta Ikonen. Shot on location at TMF 2023.
