Unknown Workout Ground begins with an attempt to look toward worlds not yet fully known—the “Unknown.” Here, the “Workout Ground” symbolizes a place where one collides, stumbles, and rises again; it is also a space for learning how to live together by recognizing both the differences and similarities between human and nonhuman beings. Thus, the Workout Ground becomes an experimental field where unpredictable movements continuously arise, and a site of willpower seeking not only survival but also symbiosis within an ever-changing world.
To be “in the Workout Ground” reveals how each body is closely intertwined with its surrounding environment, encountering and colliding in unexpected ways that lead to rediscoveries of the self and the world. There, we scatter and gather again, tremble and pause, connecting with other existences. Unknown Workout Ground embraces movements that flow naturally—like wound and recovery, stillness and commotion—proposing a sensorial exploration of transformation in its many forms.
This exhibition explores the multilayered worlds that constitute us, spanning from individual bodies to microbes, nature, humans, and society. It traverses the boundaries of inside and outside, human and nonhuman, nearness and distance, paying attention to the moments where different beings intersect.
Unknown Workout Ground is more than a site of viewing—it is a place of collision, experimentation, and collaboration. Just as repeated exercise strengthens muscles, the exhibition awakens the “muscles of coexistence”—through metamorphosis and resistance, observation and wandering—gradually building resilience and leaning on one another to navigate the field of “unknown.”
